  • cluster server pegasus4 has two network interfaces, one connects to the Missouri S&T campus network (131.151.x.x) and Internet
  • the other network interface connects server to 191 compute nodes (private Gigabit network 192.168.0.x)
  • compute nodes are diskless and stateless, booted via PXE and the pxelinux network boot loader
  • root file system of the compute nodes resides in 128Mb tmpfs in RAM; its content is downloaded via PXE/TFTP from the cluster server
  • compute nodes mount /home and /usr via NFS from the cluster server
